Deposit and withdrawal methods

This page lists every supported way to move money in and out of your AfriSynapse account, with the payment type, the fee and the realistic processing time for each. All amounts are in rand. Fees for the methods below are carried by us: what leaves your bank account is the deposit amount, and what arrives back is the withdrawal amount. Where your own bank or card issuer applies a cost, that sits between you and them and is outside our control.

Choose the method you already trust

Every method below is in everyday use in South Africa. If you already pay with Ozow at checkout or bank with a card issued by one of the big retail banks, you already know how the flow works.

Instant EFT via Ozow

Withdrawals to your linked bank account are dispatched through Ozow's secure rails, usually within 24 hours of approval. Because the destination is your verified bank account, this is both the fastest and the most fraud-resistant route. If you deposited via Ozow, this is the default method presented to you; the account name must match your verified identity.

Visa

If you deposited with a Visa debit or credit card, withdrawals can be returned to the same card where your issuing bank supports it. Final settlement depends on the card scheme and your bank, and typically takes 1 to 5 business days from approval. The card number is never stored in full; the reference used for refunds is tokenised at the payment provider.

Mastercard

Deposits made with a Mastercard can likewise be returned to the originating card. Processing time is usually 1 to 5 business days, with the same tokenised handling as Visa. If your issuer does not support refunds to card, the amount is redirected to a verified bank account through standard EFT instead, and we tell you when that happens.

Standard EFT

A conventional electronic transfer to your verified bank account, processed in batches on business days and typically settling within 1 to 5 business days depending on your bank's cut-off times. It is the steady fallback when instant rails are unavailable, and weekend requests start their clock on the next business morning.

Instant EFT via Ozow

Ozow connects directly to your internet banking, from Capitec, FNB, Nedbank, Standard Bank and the other participating banks, so a deposit authorises in your own bank's security environment. After you approve the payment, the deposit usually reflects in your account instantly, making it the fastest way to fund a strategy launch. Your banking credentials are entered only on your bank's own pages; AfriSynapse never sees them.

Visa

Fund your trading account with a Visa debit or credit card. After successful authorisation, which may include a 3-D Secure check from your bank, the deposit normally reflects within 24 hours and often much sooner. Card deposits are capped by the limits shown next to the deposit form, and the card must be in your own name to pass verification.

Mastercard

Mastercard deposits work the same way: authorisation through your bank's identity check, then crediting within 24 hours. Security may request additional verification through Mastercard Identity Check. Deposits from a joint account are acceptable where the account includes your name; third-party cards are not, because funds must trace to your verified identity.

Standard EFT

A traditional bank transfer from any South African account. Send the payment to the account details shown on your deposit page, use your account reference, and the funds are credited once they clear, typically within 1 to 3 business days. Keep the proof of payment in case your bank asks for it; your personal manager can help match a delayed transfer to your account.

Full withdrawal rules, checks and cancellation terms live in the Withdrawal Policy, and the tier minimums these deposits serve are on the Fees and Pricing page.
