Regulation
AfriSynapse conducts its activity within the regulatory framework of South Africa governing services related to digital assets and cryptocurrencies, including applicable national requirements and the obligations that follow for technology providers in this sector. The table below states the position plainly: which framework applies, and the basis on which we operate under it. We describe our status honestly and do not assert registration particulars on this page; where a counterparty relationship requires confirmed registration details, those are provided during onboarding.
Registration and regulatory oversight in South Africa
| Jurisdiction | Regulator | Registration / regulatory basis |
|---|---|---|
| South Africa, national level | Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA); Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC Act) | Complies with applicable South African requirements for client onboarding, identity verification, anti-money laundering programmes and complaint handling, within the FSCA regulatory framework and the obligations of the FIC Act. |
| Provincial and municipal level | Relevant provincial authorities where locally applicable | Complies with applicable provincial and municipal requirements for business operation, consumer protection and technology services in the jurisdictions where the platform is offered. |
| Data protection | Information Regulator (South Africa) | Processes personal information in line with the applicable data protection framework, as described in the Privacy Policy, including lawful bases, retention limits and data subject rights. |
Transparency about regulation
AfriSynapse maintains the registrations, permissions and compliance procedures required for the services it provides in each applicable jurisdiction, and we aim to state our position in the same honest terms everywhere it appears, including on the Complaints page and the AML and KYC page. Two boundaries matter to us. First, we name regulators only as the applicable framework under which we operate, never as a claim of membership or authorisation beyond what applies. Second, we never present a registration number or licence claim on a marketing page, because numbers belong in verified documents, not in copy.
Regulation does not remove investment risk
Operating within a regulatory framework does not exclude investment risk and does not promise profit. Digital assets are subject to market volatility and the other risks described in the Risk Disclosure. Read it before depositing, and treat every tool on this site, including the calculator, as illustrative rather than predictive.
